  1. Trigger for connection to external display

I would love it if I could trigger Amphetamine when connecting an external display. Nothing worse than giving a presentation/demonstration and my computer goes to sleep when I forget to move the mouse for too long.

  2. Stay Awake / End Session prompt is interrupting

I use the power trigger enable and disable. When battery drops below 50% I get this annoying prompt asking me if I want to end the session.

That should be a notification at best, if I don't want to end the session I can click the button. Or at least have a setting to disable it.

    Hi Alex,

I think I did it this way because Amphetamine supports OS X all the way back to 10.6 (pre-Notification Center). I can understand how this alert is annoying though and will explore ways to make it more customizable/less annoying. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Will

  3. It'd be great if triggers were disabled when I manually chose a "Stay Awake" duration.

Normally triggers are great, but sometimes, like when I start downloading stuff just as I'm leaving home, I'd like to set a defined amount of time before the computer sleeps so that it doesn't stay awake all day when I'm at work but the Wi-Fi trigger gets in the way of all this.

    Hi,

This is a feature I’d like to implement. I am working on coming up with a good way to separate Triggers and “single session” activations and make it easier to turn on or the other off/on. Thanks for the suggestion.

    Best,
    Will

  4. Amphetamine - USB Trigger option

It'd be great to add a trigger to keep the system awake when a device (for instance a BT headset, or a smartphone) is plugged on USB for powering.

  5. More Schedule options

It would be nice to add more option to be able to better schedule the awaking time, for example:
    - Would be nice to be able to change schedule between working days (monday-friday) and weekends.
    - Would be even cooler to add the possibility to automatic change awaking settings based on calendars appointments
    - Would be enormously great to have several schedules, for example 14-18 + 21-23 awaking time on monday+tuesday + friday.

    Hi,

I like the idea of having more control over the schedule. To be honest, the full request here is a lot of work. I’m not sure I’m going to be able to tackle all of it within the framework of Amphetamine 2.×. Things like multiple schedules might be a good 3.0 feature (i’ll probably do an entire re-write again as so much has been changed and added so far in 2.x).

That said, here is a beta with a Trigger Schedule option: http://cl.ly/0E1V021Q261G

Note that there may be any number of bugs in this beta. Please let me know if you discover any (and you probably will).

    Best,
    Will

  7. Trigger only when application is actually frontmost

It would be a nice Amphetamine Trigger Apps improvement if there was an optional checkbox to specify "trigger only when frontmost". User would select at time of adding each application. That would be great for Skype and others that may run all the time.

  8. Can you get Alfred to interact with Amphetamine.

Hi, I currently use Alfred 2 and Caffeine which works very well. I really like Amphetamine but I would like to maintain Alfred compatibility. Alfred is a spotlight replacement that uses workflows to control applications.

  10. Open Background links depending on which app they originate from in Browserism

It would be great to be able to define which links (depending on the app) are opened in the background. Example: Open in background on when searching via Alfred requires a manual app-switch with the keyboard or mouse to see the link in safari. This is…suboptimal. It would be great to be able to define which apps open links in the back- and which in the foreground.

  12. Amphetamine - Please add weekend times to schedule

    Love this app!
The one (very small) flaw that I have encountered is that my laptop is waking up over the weekend and I get to work on Monday with ~30% battery level.

My use case: Business laptop user (m-f 9am - ~5pm); keep VPN, wifi active between meetings.

I would like to have finer granularity on the schedule feature added:
    - Further define schedule to include Mon-Fri; Sat-Sun.
    - It would allow a business user's laptop to not awake over the weekend.

  13. Amphetamine: Faster way of letting screen sleep while keeping system awake

Hey amphetamine is great, I love it. Since switching over from caffeine I enjoy configuring the amount of time to have the system stay awake.

I furthermore love the feature to have the system stay awake, while the screen may go to sleep.

However it would be great to be able to more quickly select between those to modes, than always going into the settings dialog. Maybe a new entry for this option could be added to the context menu as well, like "Allow screen to sleep" or something like that.

It would be great to have faster access to…

  14. Single click to toggle on or off

It'd be great to be able to toggle Ampethamine on or off by a single click, and accessing the preferences menu by a right click or cmd+click. I'd love to see the option to swap to this preference; I just feel that a single click to toggle Amphetamine on or off would be much easier and more productive.

  16. Keep session on while connected to a specific WiFi

not only activate it, also deactivate session if not connect to that WiFi anymore. Like the off power trigger only for Wifi. I would like this for when I am at work/school

Version v2.3 will include an option to end a session if your Mac is not connected to any trigger WiFi networks, provided that the session was started due to a WiFi trigger in the first place.

That said, if other trigger conditions are met (power, apps, schedule, etc), a new session may activate.

  17. Amphetamine menubar menu should show current session time!

Amphetamine's menu bar menu should show some sort of tick beside the time chosen for the current session! At present it's impossible to see what you've set as the current "stay-awake" time!

  18. Left click must display the menu

    Hello,

To stay consistent with all existing apps, the right click should be used to execute one of the operation chosen in the Prefs.

Left click must show the menu.

    Don't you think?

    Thank you!

  19. Bug -- Style Change Does Not Persist

I think this may have been introduced when the low opacity for dark mode fix was shipped.

Currently a change to the coffee cup icon style does not persist after amphetamine is quit or system is rebooted.

Other styles changes do appear to persist, so it seems to oddly only be affecting the coffee cup icon.

btw...fwiw...love your app and responsiveness to feedback.
